Filling the tins

I love the pleasure that home baking brings. When I have the time to do it properly I feel quite relaxed, at peace with my busy life.  The slowing down and doing something more old fashioned.

I love filling the tins for my family and enjoying watching them delight in something yummy.

There is something sweet and homely about baking old familiar cakes and biscuits and feeling at home through the years with tradition and warm and inviting tastes.

It is also fun to try new recipes and delight in the new flavours and discover some new favourites that will be baked again. Occasionally something doesn't meet with our approval but not very often. Sometimes new flavours can transport us to new places, far away places. Maybe a different culture or a time in history.

Elderflower and feijoa scone. Delicious warm from the oven spread with butter.

Amish Apple Bread. I have had a fascination with the Amish people since I was a little girl. Their slower pace of life and the desire for simplicity in a rushed and hurried world.

Lemon Shortcake Tart.  Delicious with whipped cream or yogurt.

Coffee cake. A simple morning tea cake with a good strong cup of tea.

Have a delicious and sweet weekend.

Blessings to you,

"Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you." Ephesians 4:32
